Urban Developer Linstow Center Management to Expand Alfa Retail Park

Linstow Center Management , urban and shopping centre developer, intends to expand Alfa Retail Park. The development project includes considerable expansion of public areas and improvement of the Retail Park front yard facing Brīvības gatve, arrange new plants and greenery that are agreeable with the place and to build two well-appointed areas for public activities.

Frode Gronvold, chairman, management board, SIA Linstow Center Management, says, “Under the project, the volume of Alfa Retail Park building will be expanded towards Šmerļa iela, with the existing layout plan and zoning of the building preserved, and this will give an opportunity to offer even wider range of shops to our customers. The current landscaping solution of the surrounding area will be replaced with improved public areas, new plant and greenery solutions. We are certain that as a result of projected changes the urban environment quality will improve in the surroundings of the Retail Park and this will give considerable public benefit.”

Currently the sketch design for the expansion of the Retail Park is underway. The project envisages building of 2 well-appointed areas: a central area with plants and recreational area across from entrance C (Rimi), and a playground and active recreation area across from entrance B.

As a result of the increased greenery area, those customers who come to the Retail Park by public transport or bicycle will have a safe and convenient access to the Retail Park that is free of cars, plus they will have a chance to spend time and have a rest in a suitable and pleasant environment. A new underground car park (around 400 parking spaces) under the annex to be erected and the front yard, under the existing car park along Brīvības gatve, will compensate for the reduced number of parking spaces in the overground car park.
