Charity Wall, Let’s Help Together! Opened in Five Galactico Centres Operated by Linstow Center Management

Linstow Center Management (LCM), the operator of five Galactico shopping centres, Alfa, Mols, Dole, Origo and Galerija Centrs, in collaboration with Apeirons, Union of People with Disabilities and their Friends, the Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Latvian Nature Fund, Ulubele animal shelter and Ziedot.lv implement an unprecedented joint project and open the Charity Wall, Let’s Help Together!

“Today, a special joint project is launched in the Galactico shopping centres, Alfa, Mols, Dole, Origo and Galerija Centrs, in Riga, and it is a Charity Wall, Let’s Help Together! This is a long-term social responsibility programme and we are proud to be implementors and involve over 50 million customers of our shopping centres giving them an opportunity not only to shop, but also to support those who need it most,” says Evija Majevska, Commercial Director of Shopping Centres, SIA Linstow Center Management.

“Both on corporate level and individually, LCM and its shopping centres have always been collaborating with social projects providing material or other support. In collaboration with five organisations and associations, a Charity Wall with five charity collection boxes has been created, and this gives an opportunity to collect donations for some charity all together in one place,” says Majevska.

Zita Siliņa, Manager of Galerija Centrs shopping centre, “I am gratified that this joint project is opened in Galerija Centrs shopping centre. The building of Galerija Centrs has contributed much to enliven shopping traditions for years, and donation is also becoming a tradition in Latvia. Our aim is to become, together with other Galactico shopping centres, a bridge between benefactors and those who need help so much.”

Under the project, everybody who is open to the idea will have an opportunity to support one of these five organisations and associations and donate to a particular project. Apeirons, Union of People with Disabilities and their Friends, participates with their project Stay independent for life training. These are special trainings offered to people who have become disabled recently. During a seven-day intense training, people having greater “length of disability” share their experience, specialists are invited and give answers to acute questions, and people can get new hope for life.

The Children’s Hospital Foundation raises funds for rehabilitation centre equipment. The Latvian Nature Fund participates in the project and invites to support provision of online monitoring of nests of birds of prey, such as white tailed eagle and osprey, as well as black stork. The Ulubele animal shelter invites donations for pet care and Ziedot.lv collects donations to help critically ill children. Raised funds will be used to provide special rehabilitation assistance that is not included in the government funded medical services.
