Building A of Origo Shopping Centre to be Closed for Reconstruction

The real estate developer Linstow Centre Management (LCM) is continuing to expand the Origo shopping centre and to build the Origo One business centre.  At the turn of the year, Building A of Origo is to be closed down because of the reconstruction work. The process will continue until the autumn of 2020. In late February and early March of 2020, the expanded Origo section will open its doors, including a far more convenient Rimi store that will be doubled in size.  Stores and service providers in the B building of Origo and the rest of the Riga Central Station will continue to operate without changes.

The last working day for shops in Building A will be December 31, and the stores will be open until 8:00 PM.  The Rimi grocery store will close down on January 2, 2020.

Origo opening hours during the holidays:

  • The second and 3rd floor, as well as Tunnel B, will be open on December 31 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM, and they will be closed on January 1, 2020.
  • The Rimi store will be open from 7:00 AM until 10:00 PM on December 31, from 9:00 AM until midnight on January 1 and from 07:00 AM until midnight on January 2, 2020.

As has been reported in the past, Linstow Centre Management is erecting a new building at Satekles Street 2B in Rīga.  The new building is being developed on the basis of BREEAM standards to ensure that it is sustainable, energy efficient, environmentally friendly and excellent for employees.  There will be a shopping centre on the first three floors of the building.  The top three floors, with combined floor space of 11,500 m2, will be a modern business centre, Origo One.  It will have functional and transformable Grade A offices to supplement the goods and services that are offered at Origo.  The plan is to open the business centre in February 2020.  LCM is rebuilding the connection point of Elizabetes and Satekles streets alongside the expansion of the building so as to improve traffic safety and traffic flow while also increasing the level of comfort for all participants in traffic (particularly pedestrians and bicyclists) on one of Rīga’s busiest street crossings.

SIA Linstow Centre Management (LCM) is one of the leading real estate developers and managers in the Baltic States, having launched operations in 2016.  LCM manages and develops the Alfa, Origo and Mols shopping centres in Latvia, as well as the largest shopping centre in Estonia, which is located in Ülemiste.  In the centre of Rīga, LCM is currently developing an urban block that will be modern and environmentally and socially friendly.  In 2020, the company plans to open an expanded Origo shopping centre building along with a modern business centre, Origo One.  In 2019, the designs for the shopping centre and the business centre received internationally recognised sustainable evaluation method BREEAM certificates.  For more information, please visit www.linstow.lv
